What is microblading?

Microblading is a very popular semi-permanent makeup technique performed specifically on the eyebrows.

It is done by a skilled cosmetic tattoo artist who manually deposits pigment into the skin with a special hand-held tool to create fine hair strokes that look very natural.

What is ombre powder shading?

Also referred to as powder shading or micro shading. This is a technique used to create a makeup look. Powder shading can be customized to either be very soft or more dramatic. If you have oily skin, powder shading is the best option.

What are combo brows?

This procedure combines both microblading and powder shading. The powder shading is used for added dimension.

Do you have to shave your eyebrows first?

No. Microblading is done to enhance the hair that you already have. Microblading is good for people you have light hair, have over tweezed, or have little to no hair.

Does microblading scar?

No. Microblading does not scar, but picking at healing skin during healing may cause scarring. We recommend after-care topical products to assist with proper healing.

How long does microblading last?

The result is semi-permanent and depends on the persons skin. Microblading results can last up to three years, and you should expect to book touch-ups as necessary. Many factors contribute to fading over time due to exfoliation, skin care products, skin type, and sun exposure (*always wear sunscreen).

How long does microblading take to heal?

It may appear to be healed in two weeks, but it often takes four to six weeks to completely heal.

Does microblading hurt?

We apply a topical numbing cream before and during your treatment to minimize discomfort. Everyone has a different experience, but most clients find microblading to be tolerable.

How long is the procedure?

The entire procedure takes approximately 2-3 hours which includes consulting, drawing, applying anesthetic, and microblading.

Are microblading and cosmetic tattoos safe?

Yes. Safety is our top priority. Halo is licensed by the Long Beach Health Department, and the staff is trained and certified in Blood Borne Pathogens and infection control. The pigments we use comply with the resAP2008 regulations for Europe and are sterilized by gamma radiation. The U.S. is working on their set of regulations. The hand tools and microblades we use are all single use and properly disposed of after each client. We take all necessary precautions at Halo to ensure the safety of our clients.

Is microblading suitable for vegans?

The inks and topical anesthetic that we use at Halo are vegan. We sell vegan friendly, animal cruelty-free products for your aftercare needs.

How long will my brows last?

This is different for everyone. The pigment may never fade out completely but will get lighter over time. Your skin type, lifestyle and many other factors can affect how quickly your brows begin to fade. It is recommended to get a yearly touchup to maintain the color and shape.

How do you choose a shape?

We will map your brows out according to your face shape and proportions. We’ll talk about your preferences and then the artist will draw a shape that they think is a good fit. We can adjust the shape until it looks just right for you.

How do you choose the right brow color?

We will select the perfect pigment for your brows based on your current brow color, hair color, skin tone, and desired results. You will always get to approve the color before beginning. Keep in mind, your brows will usually heal a bit lighter than they look immediately after the procedure.

Will I still have to keep up with waxing, tweezing, threading, etc?

Yes, hair will continue to grow on your brows as it did before your brow procedure.

Shannon's prices: microblading $700 and combo brows $800

Annual touch up $400

*Prices include one touch-up 6-10 after your initial appointment.
