AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR MICROBLADING AND/OR POWDER SHADING

Please follow these instructions to ensure the best possible healing outcome.

DAYS 1-7: WASH

Wash daily to remove bacteria and build up from ointment and oils. Gently wash the area with your finger tips each morning and night with warm water and a gentle unscented cleanser (examples: SRB, Cetaphil or Dial). Make sure to rinse all the cleanser away, and then pat dry with a clean tissue.

Avoid using the following products on healing eyebrows or the treatment area:

  • DO NOT use any cleansing products containing the following ingredients:  Acids, glycolic, lactic, salicylic, benzoyl peroxide, Retin- A, or alpha hydroxide/AHA.

  • DO NOT use exfoliants.

  • DO NOT use Neosporin, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide.

DAYS 1-10:  MOISTURIZE

Apply tiny rice size amount of ointment 3 times a day with a cotton swab, and spread its across the treated area evenly.

To avoid delaying the healing process and to avoid suffocating the skin do not over-apply the ointment. NEVER put ointment on wet or damp eyebrow or treatment area.

After 4 days, you may apply the ointment 2 times daily with the cotton swab.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHOWERING

Steam from a shower can cause the treated area to become too wet. Durning the first 10 days of aftercare, avoid long showers. Wash your hair at the end of your shower to avoid excess water on your face. Immediately after your shower pat dry the treated area with a clean towel.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE:

What to Expect after the Procedure:

  • You may experience slight swelling, thickness, and/or redness for 1 to 2 days.

  • The color will be darker than normal immediately after the procedure. Do not be concerned as the color will fade over time.

  • Peeling will start around day 4. This will cause a temporary change in the look. It is normal if they itch. DO NOT pick or peel off any scabs or peeling skin. This will cause scaring and loss of pigment.

  • Once the peeling has stopped on its own, the new skin growth will temporarily change the look of your eyebrows. They may look milky and shiny. This may make the ink less visible or even appear missing.

We understand that changing the shape, color or size of your eyebrows can be an adjustment. Please be patient with the entire process.  Everyone holds the ink and heals at different rates. Your eyebrows may look healed in 2 weeks, but it can take 4 full weeks to see the final outcome. Touch ups are almost always necessary and may be performed 6 weeks after your first appointment if needed. During that follow-up appointment, we refine, touch up any missing hair strokes, or even add a darker ink if preferred.
