Lip Tinting or sometimes called lip blush is a semi-permanent tattoo procedure that enhances or corrects your lips. This service is geared toward women looking to correct uneven lip shape, enhance the size of their pout, or simply fill in color.
The delicate nature of this technique makes lip tinting or blushing appropriate for almost all skin tones and types. Lip blush can also help enhance your natural shape giving your lips a contour without seeing a defining line. Lip Tinting does not impact your ability to wear lipstick and can fully be covered by any color lipstick when you want. The procedure requires approximately 1-1.5 hours and there is no “down time”. A touch up is required 6-12 weeks after the initial procedure. After that touch ups are determined on an individual basis.
Please note: For the first 4-5 days, lips may be sensitive to touch, slightly swollen, appear uneven, and the color may be brighter than desired. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic lip procedures.
Lip blushing is $600 including touch-up 6-12 after procedure.
1 Week Prior the Procedure
Avoid aspirin, aspirin products, and blood thinners (consult your doctor).
Avoid Vitamin E and fish oils.
Begin moisturizing lips several times a day with Vaseline or a mild lip salve.
Avoid sun exposure to the lips. Lip tinting can not be done on lips that are sunburned or irritated.
48 Hours Prior to the Procedure
Avoid Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Naproxone. Tylenol is ok and will not affect your treatment.
Avoid drinking alcohol.
If you have a history of cold sores it is advised to begin taking a prescription oral medication 2 days before lip tinting and during the healing process. *Do not apply topical creams to your lips before or after procedure.
Day of the Procedure
Avoid coffee and energy drinks. Drinking caffeine can cause increased sensitivity, some bleeding, and/or muscle spasms in the face. We know caffeine headaches are no fun, so if needed please keep it to a minimum.
*Note: If you use any of the above medications or products that we ask you to avoid, you may experience excessive bleeding and/or skin peeling and irritation. During the procedure, if your bleeding is abnormal, we will have to stop the procedure prematurely. If your skin is irritated or peeling, the pigment will not stay properly which will have a negative effect your healed result. Please adhere to the pre-procedure instructions to ensure the best possible outcome.
Please contact Erika Jurkovic if you have any further questions about lip blushing.
Your post procedure lip care consists of cleaning your lips every hour for the first four hours after your procedure and then every three to four hours the day after your procedure using our after care pads which will be provided to you.
In between each wipe Vaseline should be applied to your lips and your lips should be kept moist and coated at all times even at night.
You must apply a thick coat of Vaseline to your lips before bedtime. We recommend keeping your lips coated and moisturized for 3-4 weeks post procedure.
Your lips may slightly scab and peel. You must let the scabbing process happen naturally. This is very important for your retention and skin healing.
Do NOT pick at the scabs, scratch your lips, peel your scabs off, or scrub the area. This can result in scarring and will affect your overall retention of the pigment.
Avoid make-up or skin care products on your lips until they have completely healed.
Avoid long term sun exposure until your lips have healed. To prevent premature fading always apply sunblock to healed lips.
